Okoume plywood, also called Marine plywood, originates from the Okoume tree, a medium-sized hardwood native to Africa. Notably, this plywood is about 8%-12% lighter than standard plywood. As a result, it is the lightest of all marine-grade plywood types, often also spelled “Okume.”
