Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) is a high grade, composite material that performs better than solid wood in many applications. Made from wood fibers and resin, Medium Density Fiberboard, commonly referred to as MDF, is machine dried and pressed to produce dense, stable sheets.

Being free from defects, it is easily cut and shaped with both hand and machine tools to provide a surface which is easily painted or otherwise decorated.

Solid wood boards will typically expand and contract both horizontally and vertically when the humidity and temperature changes.
